Music Videos


Performance
This genre of music video is where the main singer/ band is the muse of the video and is performing for the whole time. Could be either dancing or singing. This video fits into the genre of performance due to the protagonist of the video (Ariana Grande) performing to the camera for the entire duration. She is dancing and singing with backing dancers and singers.


Narrative
This genre of music video has a story line which usually follows the lyrics of the song. This music video is the rarest of all three genres as it is typically quite hard to pull off.
This specific video is a narrative video, as the main character focuses the video around her relationship story, which also correlates with the lyrics.


Concept
This genre of music video is very abstract and usually does not have any relevance to the lyrics. This music video is a concept video as the stimulus of the video (cigarette packets) have no relevance to the song and its lyrics. Additionally, it is more of an abstract and original video.
